Block Tales Bosses
Choose your current encounter for attack cues, dangerous charge windows and the tools available before a first clear. The final section covers character quests and sword unlocks, including names that are often mistaken for bosses.

Opticus the Magnificent
Opticus survival guide: the actual win condition, attack cues, Double Turns, recovery choices and the Paintball Gun reward.
Reginald
The earlier Reginald fight has 40 base HP, 2 DEF and Double Turns. In Trinity Council he instead has 20 HP and different moves. Check which encounter you are in before following a rotation.
Azuri in Block Tales: Azure Blast and Staff Attack Cues
Azuri fights as part of Trinity Council. Astral Chargeup leads to Azure Blast, so protect yourself before her next action rather than trying to block the beam.
Trinity Council
Beat Trinity Council with Ghost Potion timing for Azure Blast, conditional target order, attack cues, shield counters and first-clear BP/SP choices.
Frostmaw
Frostmaw guide: keep Cassie alive, handle summons, understand Armor, use the grounded window and avoid Chomp’s SP drain.
Prologue
Red and Blue
Reduce both HP bars before finishing the pair when practical. Defeating one gives the survivor ATK Up, so avoid leaving the surviving noob with a full health bar for many turns.
Noobador
In the Meadows encounter, clear the weakened Red and Blue before concentrating on Noobador. Each has only 2 base HP there, so removing them quickly reduces incoming actions.
Chapter 1

Supreme Ant
Clear a newly summoned Ant Army if it can act for several more turns; otherwise finish a nearly defeated Supreme Ant. The boss has only 10 base HP, so do not spend more setup actions than the fight needs.
Banished Knight
Be ready for Stab as Banished Knight reaches you: the sword swing comes immediately. The later Manor appearance is a card shop, not a required rematch.
Spiky Killbot
Bring a Bomb from Annihilator’s nearby shop. It deals 2 damage through Spiky Killbot’s 4 DEF, enough for its 2 base HP. Keep more than 2 HP yourself because Bomb also damages its user.
Sentient Statue
Expect the fast charge first, then two falling hits. Sentient Statue alternates Unexpected Zooming and Statue Smash; neither animation should be treated as a single shared rhythm.
Cruel King
Watch the mist implosion for Scepter Strike and the close-range dagger thrust for Freeze. These are different attacks. The story boss has 30 base HP and no base Defense.

Komodo Dragon
Watch the mouth close before Tail Smack, and expect more actions after Growl. Komodo Dragon is immune to Poison, so use another damage source.
Griefer
Read Griefer’s weapon before copying an attack pattern. The first crowbar encounter has 24 base HP; the later Venomshank version has 40. Bubonic Plant is a separate transformed moveset.
Bigfoot
Strike the Mango Tree repeatedly to knock Bigfoot down and start the fight. Winning recovers the Iron Sword needed to cut the thick grass toward Supreme Mosquito.
Bubonic Plant
Use Burn against Bubonic Plant and prepare for Plant Rush when it charges. Poison damage is ineffective against this boss; its 2 DEF also reduces weak individual hits.
Chapter 3

Green and Purple
Watch Purple’s delayed third stab and Green’s poison-enchant action. Defeating either sibling buffs the survivor, so plan the two finishing blows close together when possible.
Turkey
Turkey guide: the 60% HP Blunderbuss trigger, first-quest restrictions, attack timing and Raw Turkey reward.
Slasher
After Malevolence, prepare for Jump Stab and avoid wasting damage into the temporary +10 DEF. Ghost Potion can cover the incoming stab if you keep 1 SP available.
Greed
After Stretchy Solution, missed guards help Greed steal TIX and recover HP. Learn the difference between the two-hit Smack and the single delayed Clap.
Solitude
Follow the falling teardrops during Pain Rain and use its Detachment action to recover when needed. Solitude’s Spike Shot pierces defense, so added DEF alone will not solve that hit.
Fear
Keep a non-SP recovery option for Total Dismay. It Silences the party for two turns, so a Cure you could afford a moment earlier may be unusable.
Hatred
Hatred guide: exact Ghost Potion window, Prayer’s 10 HP threshold and 5 SP cost, normal attack cues and the Nothing rematch.

The Great Flocci
Watch for the delayed statue after Rich and the sound cue before Car. Great Flocci is the first Chapter 4 boss in Ancient Tomb, with 30 base HP and Double Turns.
Temple Guardian
Temple Guardian guide: hands-first targeting, attack cues, locked Special tab, recovery choices and the Pit invulnerability rule.
Captain Trotter
Match your attack to Captain Trotter’s current stance, then use Ghost Potion after Drink to avoid Inferno. The warning ends his turn and gives you an action before the charged attack.
The Ancients
The Ancients guide: Vessel target priority, six-move pattern, Ultra Beam protection, Darkness and the Guilty rematch.
Optional encounters and rematches
Supreme Mosquito
Bring an attack that can target Flying enemies and watch both loops of Double Pierce. Enter Mosquito Nest by cutting the thick grass near either end of Fire Ant Hill with the Iron Sword.
Cruel King DX
Cruel King DX guide: unlock Blackrock King, handle Last Stand at 1 HP, block Choke, prevent Famine losses and obtain the Call card.
Mutant
Mutant guide: Brigand’s Sword entrance, Rocket response, Drain Slam versus Triple Slam and the Manor Attic Key reward.
Toothy Deer
Toothy Deer adds healing and summons to the Floor 59 council fight. If Staff Support keeps undoing your damage, focus him while still reserving protection for Azuri’s charged blast.
Finn McCool
Finn McCool guide: unlock location, quick versus stalled baseball shots, delayed Bat Smackdown kick, summons and Aggressor reward.
Blackrock King / Cruel King DX: Which Encounter Is It?
Blackrock King is the optional superboss commonly called Cruel King DX. The full strategy is on our Cruel King DX page; the ordinary Chapter 1 Cruel King is a different encounter.
Characters, quests and sword unlocks
Arg’il in Block Tales: Where His Encounter Happens
Arg’il commands Frostmaw; he does not have a separate documented boss battle. For the dragon encounter, use Frostmaw’s Armor and Cassie-survival guide.
Kyoko in Block Tales: Location, Rewards and Call Card Status
Find Kyoko in Turitopulis, check her post-cure dialogue rewards, and understand why Call: Kyoko is not a current boss drop.
Dr. Sophie in Block Tales: Location and Darkheart Connection
Dr. Sophie appears outside Trinity Castle and researches Sword Energy and the guardians’ visions. The checked reference does not document a playable Dr. Sophie boss fight.
Kitchen Wizard / Ghost Chef: Quest and Ghost Potion Unlock
Kitchen Wizard is Ghost Chef. In Chapter 3, complete his ingredient requests to receive Ghost Potion and unlock cooking; he is not a boss you need to defeat.
Shedletsky Tutorial: How to Use Ice Dagger and Continue
Use Ice Dagger to finish Shedletsky’s tutorial battle in the HQ Basement. This scripted encounter teaches Sword Energy; you are not meant to reduce his HP with normal attacks.
Jerry and Terry in Block Tales: Characters and Summon Mix-up
Jerry and Tutorial Terry are different penguin characters. There is no documented Jerry-and-Terry duo boss; Jerry can temporarily appear when you try to summon Calypso.
Tutorial Terry: A Price to Pay and the Scripted Battle
Tutorial Terry’s hostile dialogue, the A Price to Pay badge and why his scripted battle cannot be won with damage.
How to Get Ghostwalker
Ghostwalker is the third story sword, obtained through Chapter 3’s Dream World finale. It costs 2 NRG to give the party one level of Dodgy; it is not a stealth boss in the Pit.
